The Peace and Sport Awards 2021 will reward inspiring change makers!
In 2020, Peace and Sport was eager to reward individuals and organizations that have continued to use sport to serve communities and to promote peace through best practices in sport. Despite challenging times, sport remained essential to promote values such as respect, unity and solidarity.
In 2021, Sport for Development and Peace (SDP) actors kept playing a fundamental role in bringing hope and courage to the most vulnerable communities. To conclude this year of inspiring stories and concrete and ambitious field actions, Peace and Sport will organize a second edition of the Peace and Sport digital Awards and reward outstanding initiatives. Through the Awards, we will invite you to meet SDP actors and discover the best peace-through-sport practices!

5 Awards categories
The annual Peace and Sport Awards reward organizations and individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to peace, dialogue and social change in the world through sport.
CHAMPION FOR PEACE OF THE YEAR
Rewards an athlete who has led a meaningful and supportive sport initiative built for a significant peaceful change.
INSTITUTION OF THE YEAR
Rewards a public entity, (State, Government, Region…), a sport institution or a company leading and/or supporting a sustainable program which contributes to the development of peace through sport.
NGO OF THE YEAR
Rewards an NGO or a humanitarian organization that invests in sport as an educational and social tool for sustainable peace and has demonstrated its capacity to involve local stakeholders.
APRIL6 INITIATIVE OF THE YEAR
Rewards individuals and organizations who have contributed to the celebration of April6, the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, through a #WhiteCard initiative or an event that raises awareness on the activation of sport as a tool for development and peace.
