Our Champion for Peace

I take my role of ambassador very seriously and I hope that it will give me new opportunities to speak about problems that affect my country and my continent, which are so close to my heart.”

Didier Drogba participated in Peace and Sport’s “Friendly Football Day” which, on 19 March 2019, brought together Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot communities in the bicommunal village of Pyla in Cyprus. The purpose of this Day, which drew families, athletes, diplomats and children together, was to promote dialogue, inclusion and friendship through sport. It also marked the launch of the 2019 edition of the #WhiteCard campaign – a digital campaign that promotes the positive and constructive values of sport.
