Official Statement from Joel Bouzou

Nov 30, 2016 | News

“It was with great sadness that I learned about the tragic plane crash in Colombia that killed 71 people. Among victims there were 48 members of the Brazilian Chapecoense Real football team and 22 sports journalists.

No doubt this sad event is a tragedy for the entire sport community and we are mourning this great loss. On behalf of the World Olympians Association and Peace and Sport we would like to extend our sincerest condolences to their families, colleagues and football family. Our thoughts are also with those who survived the catastrophe and we wish them a quick recovery.

With our affection and sympathy.”

Joël Bouzou

President and founder of Peace and Sport
