2024: A year dedicated to Athletes’ Commitment culminating with the Peace and Sport International Forum on 2-3 December

Peace and Sport outlined its objectives and highlights for 2024 during a presentation attended by Monegasque institutions, Champions for Peace, the Organization’s partners, and stakeholders from civil society.

In this Olympic year, marked by a resurgence of international conflicts, the Monegasque Organization wishes to vigorously reaffirm the importance of sport as a tool for peace.

The Champions for Peace, athletes committed to the Organization, will have a central role in all Peace and Sport initiatives. As leaders and role models, their mission will be to carry this message around the world, strengthening the impact of Peace and Sport’s actions in favor of peace.

A unique #WhiteCard campaign carried out by the Champions will mark 2024 and begin during a conference dedicated to the role of athletes in society, scheduled for April 4 in Paris, in partnership with UNESCO.

This message will be amplified during major sporting events such as the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the passage of the Tour de France in the Principality of Monaco, and most particularly during the 2024 Ballon d’Or Ceremony, during which the 3rd Socrates Award will be awarded, honoring the exceptional societal commitment of footballers.

This year of actions and commitments will come to a close during the 14th Peace and Sport International Forum in Monaco, on 2-3 December 2024.

Joël Bouzou, President and Founder of Peace and Sport: “In this Olympic year, Peace and Sport loudly affirms its commitment to peace. In the current international context marked by the decline of dialogue and the radicalization of opinions, our message of openness and exchange is of capital importance. Sport’s essential contribution as a catalyst for building peaceful communities becomes even more of a priority. ”

H.E. Mr. Pierre Dartout, Minister of State: “I underline the importance of sport in promoting dialogue between nations and communities, and I wish for respect of the Olympic truce, especially in a tense international context.”

Jean-Jérôme Perrin-Mortier, CEO of Peace and Sport: “This Olympic year will enable us to strengthen our support for local players and athletes. We have to affirm and advocate on a daily basis that sport is an effective tool and a much-needed investment towards social cohesion.”
