On the occasion of the 2026 La Vuelta Grand Départ, La Vuelta and Peace and Sport co-host the “Ride for Peace”, bringing together around 50 Champions for Peace, former professional cyclists and sports personalities.
Through this initiative, the two organisations aim to highlight the role of sport in promoting dialogue, unity and peace.
A ride for peace
Ahead of the second stage of La Vuelta 2026, from Monaco to Manosque, a symbolic ride will set off from Place du Palais, in the heart of the Principality, before heading towards the Jardin Exotique.

Since announcing their partnership in December 2025, La Vuelta and Peace and Sport have joined forces to promote the positive role sport can play in society. notably through La Vuelta’s participation in the 2026 #WhiteCard campaign, marking the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace on 6 April.
The “Ride for Peace” initiative builds on this collaboration by putting shared values into action through cycling, a discipline that Peace and Sport has already embraced through dedicated programmes, including the Ride & Learn methodology developed in partnership with the UCI.
It also reflects the ambition of La Vuelta es Más to create a positive legacy around the race and to use the event as an opportunity to engage audiences around issues that matter beyond the sporting result.
Through La Vuelta es Más, we are committed to creating a lasting legacy beyond the race itself. Partnering with Peace and Sport was a natural fit, as we share the belief that sport can have a positive impact far beyond competition. This initiative brings that ambition to life in a very tangible way. Starting from Monaco, the home of Peace and Sport, gives the initiative an even stronger meaning. Javier Guillén, General Director of La Vuelta
The Ride for Peace is a unique opportunity to highlight the values we share with La Vuelta. Cycling is a powerful vehicle for conveying messages of peace, and at Peace and Sport, we put these values into practice through dedicated programmes and advocacy initiatives, in partnership with major sporting events such as La Vuelta. Bringing this commitment to the roads of Monaco is a strong and visible way to demonstrate how cycling can contribute to promoting a culture of peace.
