Ahead of Stage 2 of La Vuelta 2026, co-organised by La Vuelta and Peace and Sport, Monaco hosted a special moment celebrating the power of sport to bring people together.
H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, Patron of Peace and Sport, gave the official start to the Ride for Peace, setting off a peloton of 50 participants, including Champions for Peace, former professional cyclists and sports personalities.
From Place du Palais to the Jardin Exotique, the riders took to the streets of Monaco united by a common commitment to peace. Beyond the sporting challenge, the Ride for Peace created a moment of connection and dialogue, demonstrating how sport can bring together people from different backgrounds around shared values.
The Ride for Peace reflects Peace and Sport’s commitment to using the visibility and reach of major sporting events to promote positive messages and create meaningful moments of engagement.
With La Vuelta bringing the world of cycling to Monaco, the event provided a unique opportunity to demonstrate that sporting events can be more than moments of competition: they can become platforms for peace and build a lasting legacy.
