Theme revealed for landmark 10th edition of the Peace and Sport International Forum

Peace and Sport, the politically-neutral organization aimed at promoting sport as a tool for peace, will hold the 10th edition of its International Forum between 6-8 December, with this year’s focus being on “Sport Innovation for Social Transformation”.

This year’s Forum, which will take place at the Monte Carlo Bay Hotel, Monaco, will provide a platform to foster creativity, innovation and collaboration globally through sport. The Forum will look at how social innovations through sport can be used to tackle today’s most pressing societal problems and the future challenges that await. Geopolitical tensions, along with the lack of access to financial, educational, health and social resources in deprived areas are generating unstable conditions, leaving communities teetering on the brink of humanitarian crisis.

In this respect, the 2017 Forum will aim to trigger creative change across five intertwined sub-themes:

  • social innovation in challenging times
  • business investment for social good
  • sport as a driving force for creative expression
  • urban regeneration through sport
  • the dawn of digital solutions

Peace and Sport Founder and President, Joël Bouzou, said:

“Peace and Sport International Forum offers a platform to foster the power of sport and innovative solutions to pave the way to more inclusive societies, create the conditions for sustainable peace and envision a prosperous future.”

Over 500 leading figures from the worlds of sport, politics, academia, the private sector and civil society will convene over three days to share their experience, debate their ideas and make forward thinking decisions that will foster the power of sport to create a sustainable, inclusive, and peaceful society.
Workshops, plenary sessions, decision-making activities as well as diplomatic event, sports activities and awards ceremony will make this year’s Forum the special occasion to celebrate Peace and Sport 10th anniversary.
