The Run for Peace is gaining momentum in Dili!

On 12 May, just after the start of the 3rd Dili International Marathon, over 6,000 runners set off for the 5 km race, and nearly 2,000 runners for the 10 km race in the second Run for Peace organized as part of the "Dili Cty of Peace" campaign initiated by the former President of Timor-Leste, H.E. President José Ramos-Horta.

The Run for Peace was held a week before the official celebration of Timor Leste’s 10 years of independence. For Floriano da Costa Carvahlo, event organizer "it was great to see all these people peacefully celebrate life together. This is the best race we have had so far and I hope that Taci Tolu (Independence) celebrations will be like this."
