Dear friends and colleagues,
Dear actors for peace and development through sport,
Launched in 2013 by the IOC and the UN and celebrated for the first time last year, the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace has proven its capacity to mobilize actors worldwide and reach out to a global audience.
In 2014, almost 350 projects across 90 countries were registered on the www.april6.org platform.

On 6 April this year, it is up to us to keep the momentum going and raise even more awareness about this International Day in order to repeat the success of the first edition.
This event is vital in strengthening and promoting sport’s credibility as a tool to tackle issues in society. Every day, new stakeholders are joining our movement, with the strong belief that sport can make a difference.
The goal this year is to firmly establish 6 April as an event capable of mobilizing not just the international sports community but also the peace movement.
To reach this goal, Peace and Sport is calling on each and every one of you to lend your support to two operations:

For the second year running, Peace and Sport is launching the #WhiteCard campaign with the support of photographer Maud Bernos.
In 2014, #WhiteCard mobilized thousands of internet users around the world and reached millions more. Peace and Sport is calling on you again this year to show your support through the symbolic white card in order to demonstrate to your friends and family that you are committed to peace in the world.
Whether or not you’ve registered a project on the April6 platform, and wherever you live, follow in the footsteps of the well-known personalities who’ve joined the campaign (look out for their special #WhiteCard photos in the coming weeks) and demonstrate your support to the global peace through sport movement!
#WhiteCard will be launched on social media on 20 March 2015.
Get ready and stay connected on Facebook and Twitter to take part in this mass online campaign.
Together, let’s show the world the strength of our movement! |
