As Champions for Peace, we also play a social and environmental role. In my youth training camps, when we’re not coaching, we take the children to clean up our natural environment and this is important to open their eyes to values outside of basketball.

22/09/2013: After eliminating Spain in the prolongation of the semi-final, France beat Lithuania to win its first European Championship.

A member of the golden generation of French basketball, Florent Pietrus took part in all championships. Now at the end of his career, he’s working to develop basketball in the French Antilles, his country of origin, and in Africa, where he runs advanced training courses each year.

A member of the French NOC Athletes Commission, he’s becoming a Champion for Peace to share the values of sport with the widest possible audience.
