Title:

Chief of Cabinet of the President

International solidarity - peace through sport

Overview:

Peace and Sport – L’Organisation pour la Paix par le Sport

Recognized as politically neutral and based in Principality of Monaco, Peace and Sport is an international organization headed by President and Founder Joël Bouzou and placed under the High Patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco.

Peace and Sport works to build sustainable peace throughout the world.

By promoting the practice of sport as a tool for peace education in the most vulnerable communities, Peace and Sport intervenes in areas affected by extreme poverty, the aftermath of conflict or lack of social cohesion.

To achieve this, Peace and Sport sets up international cooperation between leaders from politics, sports governing bodies, peace, the private sector and actors from civil society. Its action is divided into 5 parts:

  • an International Annual Forum, a place where all stakeholders can meet and exchange ideas,
  • Locally-based projects, field development programs that integrate and evaluate best practices,
  • the Peace and Sport Awards, rewarding the best initiatives in the field,
  • the Peace and Sport Community, to strengthen cooperation between stakeholders
  • the "Champions for Peace" club which enables sports champions to ‘give back’ to society all that sport has given them through structured action dedicated to sustainable peace.
