Sochi: Capital of the Peace Through Sport Movement
A few hours prior to the opening of the 6th Peace and Sport International Forum, the future Russian Olympic city prepares to welcome the international community
Sochi (Russia), 31 October, 2012 - more than 500 delegates from nearly 70 countries are today expected in Sochi for the 6th edition of the Peace and Sport International Forum. The Opening Ceremony will take place this evening and debates will continue until 2 November.

The 3rd Friendship Games: another step forward on the road to peace and stability
More than 250 young people and many political and sports authorities demonstrated the unifying role played by sport in the sensitive Great Lakes region in Africa
12 July 2012 - The 3rd Friendship Games were held over the weekend of 7 and 8 July 2012 in Gihanga, Bubanza province in Burundi. The event organized by "Peace and Sport l’Organisation pour la Paix par le Sport" brought together more than 250 youngsters from 9 to 15 years old from all sides of the border. This year Rwanda took part in the Friendship Games for the first time, confirming the growing regional importance of this event which is highly festive and symbolic.

Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda unite through sport
On 7 & 8 July, the third "Friendship Games" will take place in the Great Lakes region of Africa: two days of trans-border sports competitions intended to promote peace and unite young people from Burundi, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Rwanda around values of friendship and fraternity offered by sport.
“Peace and Sport, l’Organisation pour la Paix par le Sport” has jointly organised this event in Gihanga, Bubanza province in Burundi which will bring together more than 250 young people from 9 to 15 years old, from several different communities located on all sides of the border.
This is the first year that Rwanda will participate in the Friendship Games, confirming the growing regional importance of this event which is highly festive and symbolic.

Chuan Guo, first Chinese "Champion for Peace"
A universal sportive challenge to promote the values of sustainable peace
Galway, July 5th 2012 - Peace and Sport President Joël Bouzou today appointed Mr. Chuan Guo as the 69th “Champion for Peace”. Chuan Go, who is set to challenge a world record in non-stop solo sailing later this year, becomes the first Chinese personality to join the prestigious team of athletes who support Peace and Sport, the Monaco-based organization working for sustainable peace throughout the world.

Badminton peace project launched in Timor-Leste
The Badminton World Federation and Peace and Sport launch their second joint project to encourage peace and social cohesion through badminton - "BADMINTON BA DAME".
Timor-Leste, 15 June 2012 - one year after "Badminton por la Paz" was introduced in Colombia, Peace and Sport and the Badminton World Federation (BWF) are launching "Badminton ba Dame" (Badminton for Peace in Tetum language) a new project using badminton and its values to teach peace culture to young people in Timor-Leste by facilitating dialogue and social cohesion.
The 3-year project was conceived by Peace and Sport and the BWF, in partnership with the Timorese Badminton Federation and Badminton Asia and supported by Yonex.

Dubai Leads the Way in Using Sport as a Tool for Peace in the Middle East
The first Peace and Sport Forum in the Middle East will take place in the Emirate of Dubai in March 2013
Dubai (United Arab Emirates) 24 April, 2012 - The Dubai Sports Council and "Peace and Sport, l’Organisation pour la Paix par le Sport" have formed a historic strategic alliance to make sport a driving force for development, education, social cohesion and peace in the entire Middle East region and further afield.
The partnership was announced today at a press conference attended by H.E. Mattar Al Tayer, Deputy Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, and Joël Bouzou, President and founder of Peace and Sport.

3 Cities Bid to Host the 8th Peace and Sport International Forum in 2014
MONACO, March 8, 2012 - At the end of the first selection phase, 3 cities were selected to become official candidates to host the 8th Peace and Sport International Forum which will take place in 2014.
The cities are:
- Beijing (People’s Republic of China),
- Dallas, Texas (USA).
- Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom.
Since its inception in 2007, the Peace and Sport International Forum has emerged as the single-most important meeting in the international calendar for peace through sport.
