Five major International Sports Federations join the Peace and Sport family at Sportaccord 2009
Operational Capacities Strengthened for Peace and Sport
Denver, Colorado, 26 March 2009 – From Sportaccord 2009, the international organisation Peace and Sport announces
the signature of Global Agreements with five major International sports Federations (IF) to implement joint
development programmes for education through sport all over the world :

The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF). The first joint programmes called "Ping Pong Paz" (Peace
through Ping Pong) are planned in Colombia, with the non-governmental organisation “Colombianitos”, the
Colombian Table Tennis Association, and the table tennis manufacturer Butterfly. Future projects in East
Timor and a project in Palm Island, Australia through the Cathy Freeman Foundation are currently being
discussed.

The World Chess Federation (FIDE) will encourage peace-promotion events and provide equipment and
training for the Youth Centres Peace and Sport supports.

The International University Sports Federation (FISU) will support Peace and Sport in its awareness raising
campaigns among students, who are the decision-makers of tomorrow.

The International Military Sports Council (CISM) will develop joint peace-building operations for
demobilised child soldiers in the Great Lakes Region in Africa.

The International Rugby Board (IRB) has joined forces with Peace and Sport to deliver peace-building
education programmes through Rugby in several countries.

Peace and Sport and the International Rugby Board Sign Agreement
The International Rugby Board is committed to work alongside Peace and Sport to build peace-promotion and peace-building programmes worldwide
Peace and Sport and the International Rugby Board (IRB) have joined forces to deliver peace-building education
programmes through Rugby.
The agreement was ratified by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between both parties.
The MOU was signed by IRB President Bernard Lapasset and Peace and Sport President Joel Bouzou at the
SportAccord 2009 Conference in Denver, USA on March 24.

The Second Peace and Sport International Forum: Peace through Sport Becomes a Reality
Monaco, 5th December 2008 – “How can we best use sport to develop peace in the world?” Some 330
decision-makers from politics and sport representing over 50 countries from the 5 continents met for 3

The organisation’s logo will be displayed on the famous red and white football shirt
Monaco, 4 December 2008 - This evening AS MONACO FOOTBALL CLUB became an exceptional
ambassador for the international organisation Peace and Sport that encourages the practice of sport as an
instrument of peace and social stability throughout the world.
The new ASM FC shirt with the organisation’s logo was shown for the first time during a ceremony that took place in Monaco with an audience of over 300 decision-makers in politics, sport and business, on the occasion
of the second International Forum Peace and Sport.

“Peace and Sport Awards” ceremony to recompense initiatives in sport that have made a particular
contribution to social stability in the world in 2008.
In front of an audience of over 300 personalities from sport, politics, business and civil life assembled for
the International Peace and Sport Forum,
H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco and Joel Bouzou, President
and Founder of the international organisation presented awards for four projects and symbolic moments
in sport that have successfully created links between divided or opposed communities.

The mobilisation of international players intensifies
Monaco, 1st December 2008 - The Principality of Monaco is preparing to host a historical summit meeting this week – the second International Peace and Sport Forum from 3 to 5 December. Canoeing Builds Bridges between Divided Communities
The International Canoe Federation has created a partnership with “Peace and Sport” for peace education in Africa
Monaco, August 5th 2008 – The International Canoe
Federation(ICF) today announced its partnership
with the international organisation “Peace and Sport” based
in Monaco to implement peace education programmes on the African
continent.
Under the terms of the agreement, the ICF will support action implemented
by Peace and Sport in several countries in the Great Lakes Region,
notably in Burundi and Rwanda where Peace and Sport already has a
presence and is working on several projects. These operations aim
to reconcile communities that have been divided by conflict and to
create favourable conditions for Sustainable Peace.

International Federations give their support to the international

Athens, Greece, 6 June 2008 – After a week of
intensive work and fruitful meetings, Joël Bouzou, President

Improve the Lives of Underprivileged Young People

Judo Federation (IJF) today signed a major global agreement to set
up joint programmes aimed at education and development everywhere
in the world, using sport as the vector.
The partnership agreement was announced today during
the 2008 SportAccord Convention in Athens.
This partnership strengthens Peace and Sport’s
capacity to implement projects designed to bring the thrill and discipline
of sports to underprivileged kids. The organisation will benefit
from the IJF’s support, technical resources and expertise to
help improve living conditions for thousands of young people in distress.

Dili, Timor-Leste – February 21st 2008 : “Peace
and Sport”, international organisation based in Monaco under the High Patronage

Mr. Laurent Torrecillas to Timor-Leste for a 4-day visit to ascertain the sporting
