Much more than a game, sport is a universal tool of dialogue, brotherhood, and civic education. Our Locally-Based Projects are aimed at spreading a culture of peace and tolerance based on the rules of sport. By educating youth to respect society’s rules, by linking human and social potential to development opportunities, our Locally-Based Projects place sport at the service sustainable peace through Peace-promotion and Peace-building projects.

  1. 1/ Our Peace-promotion Projects support sports-based events that integrate cultural and artistic dimensions with a strongly symbolic impact. The main objective is to encourage dialogue about peace, using sport as a vehicle. The involvement of local stakeholders is key (government, National Sports Federations, organisations from civil society etc.). These projects bring communities together around sport. They encourage National Federations to become actors for social cohesion, spread the practice of sport as a stabilizing factor for individuals and society and to promote respect of rules in sport and in society by propagating the structuring values of sport.
  1. 2/ Our Peace-building Projects have the objective of building sustainable peace by reintegrating vulnerable young people through sport. These programmes enable local sports networks to be set up in the heart of disadvantaged and vulnerable communities, creating conditions that encourage existing sports facilities to be improved and to implement national strategies for sport, supervision and development of youth.
