It is with great pride that I bring my High Patronage to this ambitious humanistic project focused on sport, aimed at promoting civic-mindedness, an indispensable value in social and community life.

“Peace and Sport” will strive to convince political leaders, international organisations and key civil society players that Sport can widely contribute to Peace.

In a world in the grip of constant changes, where risks are multiple and the future often uncertain, sport will be a source of stability and equilibrium for our young generations, thanks to the values of respect, sharing, tolerance and loyalty it conveys.

The first edition of the “Peace and Sport” international forum will be held in Monaco in December 2007. This annual event will later take place all around the world, where the need is felt. But it will mostly become a permanent organisation capable of federating all those who believe in Universal Peace embodied by sport.

I am deeply convinced that this project, carried along by a surge of strong will and generosity, will provide our youth with the form of speech it eagerly needs.
