For the second year running, the “International Forum Peace

More than 150 decision-makers from the world of politics, sport
and from economic and civilian life attended the Founding Forum Peace
and Sport in 2007, making this meeting platform the biggest international
event dedicated to peace and to sport.
In 2008, we are proud to bring together Heads of Government, sport governance
bodies (the IOC and International Federations), famous athletes and Olympians,
major international organisations working for peace and development, winners
of the Nobel Peace Prize, private corporations and NGOs, all united by the conviction
that sport should effectively contribute to reconciling divided communities.
Discussions will take place in plenary sessions based on the following themes:
- Identifying Government needs and new areas where intervention
is necessary
- Updates on the Locally-Based Projects underway
- Presenting best practices
- Discovering synergies and ways that different actors involved
can cooperate together
