Sport has become an international language that can unite millions of politicians, millions of young people and women around sport and in general sportspeople have easy access to people.

Hicham El Guerrouj is unquestionably the best-ever Moroccan athlete. Winner of four World Champion titles for1500 m, he won the double 1 500 m/5 000 at the Athens Olympic Games in 2004. Appointed as an IOC member in the same year, he was designated “model athlete” by the IOC athletes commission at the first Youth Olympic Games and he works for the development of his city, Berkane.
